Thinking out loud about Thinking Out Loud

*warning may contain jumbled thoughts*

So the sitch is... I have just finished watched Ed Sheeran’s new video for Thinking Out Loud and I was so surprised by my own reaction that I needed to write it down somewhere. First things first (ignores Fancy reference) I cant listen to this song without thinking of that Zalfie video that Zoella posted on Twitter. If you haven’t seen it, it’s basically an amalgamation of ‘loved up’ clips of the YouTuber’s Zoe Sugg and Alfie Dayes. Strange, yes i know, sorry, moving on...Secondly if I don’t get tickets to his show at the end of this month I will probably resort to standing outside the arena, playing his album and swaying. Lastly, I have 100% fallen for this man and his music.

To cut a long story short, I have never listened to his first album ‘Plus/+’ however I am obsessed with his second album ‘x’. He has released three singles from his latest album, the first being Sing which is catchy as sheeeeeeeeeeeet, ‘Dont’ was the second single supposedly about Ellie Goulding and Niall Horan but whatever, the video was crazy! And the newest single, which has consequently made me, reevaluate my life – Thinking Out Loud.Where do I even start with this song/video?! Sheeran said this is the only ‘happy song’ on the album and pinned it as the ‘walking down the isle’ song. My heart is aching. Thinking Out Loud is about growing old with somebody you love and how your love will effectively stay young despite physically growing older “cause honey your soul could never grow old, its evergeen.” I want to marry this beautiful man. It’s refreshing to see a male in this industry and in the public eye sing so openly about love and relationships. It restores my faith in men.

Let me talk about this video. Who knew Ed Sheeran could dance and dance well? The video focuses on Sheeran and a very beautiful lady dancing alone after hours in what looks like some sort of theatre. Surrounded by artwork and dim lights, this perfectly captures the essence of the song. The fact the chairs are placed on tables makes the gesture even more romantic and obviously makes me fall in love a little more. Sheerans past two videos have been upbeat and busy, so it’s good for others to see the slower side of his music. All I have to say is that the video oozes passion and makes me want to scream "afjafkhafheGfajk".

If you haven’t seen the video yet, you can watch it below. Just be prepared to fall in love with the song, the lyrics, the video and obviously the main man himself - Ed. Congrats to Ed Sheeran for making such an effective video and Thinking Out Loud currently being number 6 in the charts!

Ps. Ed, if you’re reading this, which you probably are not, please can I come see you when you're in Manchester?
